Biography

Harry Escott is a British composer born in London in 1976. He studied at the Royal College of Music and Somerville College, Oxford, and began as a chorister at Westminster Cathedral.

He has composed scores for films including Hard Candy (2005), Shame (2011), Welcome to the Punch (2013), The Selfish Giant (2013) and Ali & Ava (2021). He frequently collaborates with directors Steve McQueen, Michael Winterbottom and Clio Barnard. His television credits include River (2015) and Roadkill (2020).

Escott has received a BAFTA award for Roadkill, a BIFA for Ali & Ava and an RTS award for Uprising (2021).
