Biography
Heather Cappiello is an American television director whose credits include episodes of Law & Order (2022), Chicago Fire (2021–2024), Fear the Walking Dead (2021–2023), The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2021), FBI (2022), Blue Bloods (2017–2019) and The Lincoln Lawyer (2024). She is also attached to direct an episode of the upcoming series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
Before directing, Cappiello worked as a script supervisor on numerous films and series including Species III (2004), Lie to Me (2009), Six Feet Under, Saving Grace and Up All Night. She trained at the University of California, Berkeley, where she earned a BA, and holds a Masters in Theatre Directing from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. She is an alumna of the Directors Guild of America Craft and Mentorship Program and the CBS Directing Initiative.
Cappiello has also directed for the stage, co-founding the Jawbone Theatre Ensemble in the Bay Area and staging premieres in London and San Francisco. She wrote and directed the short film Ruby's Tuesday and has directed site-specific dance performances and short dance films. She is a member of the co-producing team for the Broadway musical The Outsiders.
