Biography
Ian Hendry (13 January 1931 – 24 December 1984) was an English actor. He trained at the Central School of Speech and Drama in London and began his career in repertory theatre and small film roles before gaining wider recognition on television.
He played the lead role of Dr David Keel in the first series of The Avengers (1961) and starred in The Lotus Eaters (1972–73). His film work included Repulsion (1965), The Hill (1965), Get Carter (1971) as Eric Paice, Tales from the Crypt (1972), Theatre of Blood (1973) and The Passenger (1975). He received BAFTA nominations for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles for Live Now, Pay Later (1962) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role for Get Carter (1971). He was married to actress Janet Munro from 1963 to 1971.
