Biography

Ian Seabrook is a Canadian cinematographer specialising in underwater work. He began as a stills photographer, diving and photographing on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef, and transitioned to underwater cinematography in 1998 after earlier work as a camera assistant. He is also a professional diver.

Seabrook has contributed underwater sequences to numerous feature films, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), Glass (2019) and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny (2023). For the National Geographic documentary The Rescue (2021), he photographed the underwater recreations of the Tham Luang cave rescue.

His work on The Rescue earned him the Critics’ Choice Documentary Award for Best Cinematography.
