Biography
J. R. Orci is a Mexican television writer and producer. Born in Mexico City in 1975 to a Mexican father and Cuban mother, he was raised in Mexico City, Canada, Texas and Los Angeles, and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin.
Orci began working in television on the series Alias (2001), contributing as a writer and co-producer. He later joined Fringe (2008) as a writer and supervising producer, brought on by his brother Roberto Orci, one of the show's creators; he also served as consulting producer during the fourth season.
His other credits include writing and producing roles on Hawaii Five-0 (2010), The Blacklist (2013) and Alert: Missing Persons Unit (2023).
