Biography

Jack Betts, also credited as Hunt Powers, was an American actor. Born Jack Fillmore Betts on 11 April 1929 in Jersey City, New Jersey, he died on 19 June 2025 in Los Osos, California.

He trained at the University of Miami and the Actors Studio. Betts appeared in numerous spaghetti Westerns in the 1960s and 1970s, including Sugar Colt (1966). His later film roles included Falling Down (1993), Batman Forever (1995), Batman & Robin (1997), Office Space (1999), 8MM (1999) and Spider-Man (2002), in which he played Henry Balkan. On television he had parts in series such as General Hospital, Perry Mason, Friends, The Mentalist and Monk.

Betts also worked in theatre, appearing on Broadway and writing the play Screen Test: Take One. He played Boris Karloff in Gods and Monsters (1998).
