Biography
Jack Murray was an American film editor. He is also credited as John Murray. He had around 55 feature film credits between 1929 and 1961.
Murray worked extensively with director John Ford, editing fifteen of his films from The Prisoner of Shark Island (1936) through Two Rode Together (1961). Their collaborations include The Quiet Man (1952), The Searchers (1956), Red River (1948), Fort Apache (1948), She Wore a Yellow Ribbon (1949), Rio Grande (1950), The Horse Soldiers (1959), 3 Godfathers (1948), Mister Roberts (1955) and Wagon Master (1950). He began his career with more than thirty credits at 20th Century Fox and its predecessors, including The White Parade (1934).
Murray died in Los Angeles, California, on 7 February 1961.
