Biography
James B. Sikking (1934–2024) was an American actor. He is best known for playing Lieutenant Howard Hunter in the NBC series Hill Street Blues (1981–1987) and Dr David Howser in the ABC series Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989–1993). He also appeared as Captain Stan Jonas in the CBS series Brooklyn South (1997–1998).
Sikking graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1959. His film credits include Ordinary People (1980) as Ray Hanley, Outland (1981) as Sergeant Montone and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock (1984) as Captain Styles. He received an Emmy nomination for his work on Hill Street Blues.
