Biography

James Hambidge is a British production designer and art director. He began his career in the art department on films including The Fifth Element (1997) as a set designer and progressed to art director roles on Casino Royale (2006), The Dark Knight (2008) and X-Men: First Class (2011).

He has worked as supervising art director on several large-scale productions such as The Dark Knight Rises (2012), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015), The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and John Carter (2012). Hambidge served as production designer on Holmes & Watson (2018) and Tom & Jerry (2021), and as associate production designer on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (2016). He has received three wins and eleven nominations for his work.
