Biography

Jamie Dornan is a Northern Irish actor and former model. He was born James Peter Maxwell Dornan on 1 May 1982 in Holywood, County Down. He attended Methodist College Belfast and briefly studied at Teesside University before moving to London to pursue acting.

Dornan began his career as a model, appearing in campaigns for brands including Calvin Klein, Dior Homme and Hugo Boss. His first film role was as Count Fersen in Sofia Coppola's Marie Antoinette (2006). He gained wider recognition for playing Sheriff Graham / The Huntsman in the series Once Upon a Time (2011–2013) and serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall (2013–2016). He is also known for portraying Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades film trilogy (2015–2018) and Pa in Belfast (2021).

Dornan played Dr Leslie Ferrier in Kenneth Branagh's A Haunting in Venice (2023). His other credits include Anthropoid (2016), The Siege of Jadotville (2016) and the series The Tourist (2022–2024). He has received two Irish Film and Television Awards and nominations for a BAFTA Television Award and a Golden Globe Award.
