Biography
Jason Mewes is an American actor and comedian. He is best known for portraying Jay, one half of the duo Jay and Silent Bob, in Kevin Smith’s View Askewniverse films.
Mewes made his screen debut as Jay in Clerks (1994). He has since reprised the role in Mallrats (1995), Chasing Amy (1997), Dogma (1999), Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001), Clerks II (2006) and Clerks III (2022). He has also appeared in Scream 3 (2000) and Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008), and in television series including The Flash (2014) and Hawaii Five-0 (2010).
Born in Highlands, New Jersey, Mewes began his career while working as a roofer. He has collaborated frequently with Smith since the mid-1990s.
