Biography

Jay Miracle is a film editor, producer, director and writer. He began his career in the Bay Area after studying sculpture at UC Berkeley, working as an apprentice assistant editor on The Godfather Part II (1974) and as assistant editor on One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975) and Star Wars (1977). He also served as sound editor on Apocalypse Now (1979).

Miracle edited Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) alongside Michael Greer, earning a Primetime Emmy Award and an American Cinema Editors award. His later editing credits include Bettie Page Reveals All (2013). He has directed and produced documentaries and worked on additional features and television projects.
