Biography
John Larroquette is an American actor. Born on 25 November 1947 in New Orleans, Louisiana, he began his career providing the narration for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). He had early television roles including on the series Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976–1978).
Larroquette is best known for playing Assistant District Attorney Dan Fielding on the sitcom Night Court (1984–1992; 2023–2025), a role that earned him four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He later starred in The John Larroquette Show (1993–1996) and won a fifth Emmy for a guest appearance on The Practice.
His other notable television work includes Carl Sack on Boston Legal (2004–2008), a recurring role on The Librarians (2014–2018), and appearances in House, Parks and Recreation and White Collar. He has also narrated several Texas Chainsaw Massacre films and appeared in features such as Stripes (1981) and Ri¢hie Ri¢h (1994).
