Biography
John Macmillan (also credited as MacMillan) is a British actor. He trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London after attending Waterford Kamhlaba United World College in Mbabane, Eswatini, and began his career in theatre in 2007.
He received Ian Charleson Award nominations for performances in Hamlet and Macbeth, and was nominated for a Satellite Award for his role as Edmund in the 2018 BBC Two adaptation of King Lear. His television credits include the BBC One drama Silk (2011–2014), the Channel 4 sitcom Chewing Gum (2015–2017) as Ronald, Back (2017–2021), Hang Ups (2018) and House of the Dragon (2022) as Ser Laenor Velaryon. Film roles include Hanna (2011), Maleficent (2014), Fury (2014) and The Dig (2021).
