Biography

John P. Goldsmith is an American production designer. A Boston native, he studied art history at Boston University and earned master’s degrees in design and architecture from Harvard University. He has worked in the art department on films including No Country for Old Men (2007) and The Polar Express (2004).

As production designer he has collaborated with director J.C. Chandor on All Is Lost (2013) and A Most Violent Year (2014), and on the series The OA (2016) and Perry Mason (2020). His other credits include Chappaquiddick (2017), Boston Strangler (2023) and Rebel Ridge (2024). He received an Emmy nomination for outstanding production design for Perry Mason and won Excellence in Production Design Awards for John Adams (2008) and No Country for Old Men (2008).
