Biography
Jon Cassar is a Maltese-Canadian television director and producer. Born in Malta in 1958, he moved to Canada as a child and graduated from Algonquin College in Ottawa.
He is best known for his work on the Fox series 24 (2001–2010), where he directed dozens of episodes across the first seven seasons and served as a producer. Cassar won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series in 2006 for an episode of the show. He has also directed episodes of Fringe (2008), Person of Interest (2011), Terra Nova (2011), Revolution (2012) and The Orville (2017), among many others. In 2011 he produced and directed the miniseries The Kennedys, for which he received a Directors Guild of America Award.
