Biography
Jon Spaihts (also credited as Jonathan Spaihts) is an American screenwriter and author. Born on 4 February 1970 in New York City, he is a graduate of Princeton University.
He wrote the screenplay for Prometheus (2012), directed by Ridley Scott. Spaihts co-wrote the screenplays for Dune (2021) and Dune: Part Two (2024), both directed by Denis Villeneuve and based on Frank Herbert's novel, with the former earning him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. His other credits include The Darkest Hour (2011), Passengers (2016) and Doctor Strange (2016). He has also worked as an executive producer on several projects.
