Biography
Jonathan Whitehead (21 October 1960 – 26 May 2020) was an English composer and musician. He provided music for the television series The Day Today (1994) and Brass Eye (1997), and collaborated regularly with Chris Morris on projects including Nathan Barley (2005).
He studied music at the University of Bristol and lived in London. Whitehead often worked under the name Trellis. His scores for Black Books (2000), Green Wing (2004–2007) and Four Lions (2010) are among his best-known work. The music for Green Wing won the RTS Craft and Design Award for Best Original Score in 2005 and received a BAFTA nomination.
Other credits include The Day Shall Come (2019) and series such as Smack the Pony and Peep Show. He died of a heart attack in May 2020.
