Biography

Joseph G. Aulisi is a costume designer who has worked in theatre, film and television. He began designing for New York productions in the mid-1960s and made his Broadway debut with the original production of The Man in the Glass Booth (1968). His stage credits include supervising costume designer on Jerome Robbins' Broadway (1989) and nominations for Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Costume Design for Precious Sons (1986) and Rumors (1989).

In film, Aulisi has designed costumes for more than 60 productions since the early 1970s, beginning with Shaft (1971). His credits include The Secret of My Success (1987), Die Hard: With a Vengeance (1995), Bicentennial Man (1999), Charlie's Angels (2000), Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle (2003), The Pink Panther (2006), Stepmom (1998), Three Days of the Condor (1975) and The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) (2017). He has also worked on television series such as Smash (2013).

Aulisi has received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations and three Costume Designers Guild Award nominations. He is married to scenic designer Marsha L. Eck.
