Biography
Joseph LoDuca is an American composer of film and television scores. Born in 1958 in Detroit, Michigan, he trained in guitar performance and composition at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University, and began his career in the Detroit jazz and rock scenes before releasing a jazz album, Glisten.
He made his film scoring debut on The Evil Dead (1981) and went on to score its sequels Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992), as well as later entries in the franchise and the series Ash vs Evil Dead. LoDuca has frequently collaborated with director Sam Raimi and producer Dean Devlin on projects including Xena: Warrior Princess (1995–2001), Spartacus (2010) and the Chucky films and series.
His television work includes scores for Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Leverage and The Librarians. He has received two Primetime Emmy Awards, for Xena: Warrior Princess and Legend of the Seeker, along with eleven nominations in total.
