Biography
Bruce Campbell is an American actor and filmmaker, born on 22 June 1958 in Birmingham, Michigan. He is best known for his role as Ash Williams in Sam Raimi's Evil Dead horror film series, which began with the short Within the Woods (1978) and continued through The Evil Dead (1981), Evil Dead II (1987) and Army of Darkness (1992).
He has appeared in supporting roles in films including The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) as Smitty, Fargo (1996) and the Spider-Man trilogy (2002–2007). Campbell starred in the television series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. (1993–1994) and played Sam Axe in Burn Notice (2007–2013); he reprised Ash in the series Ash vs. Evil Dead (2015–2018). He has directed, produced and written several projects, including My Name Is Bruce (2007), and frequently collaborates with Raimi.
