Biography
Joyce Brothers (1927–2013) was an American psychologist, television personality and actress. She first gained prominence in 1955 as the second person, and only woman, to win the top prize on the game show The $64,000 Question, answering questions on boxing.
Brothers hosted syndicated advice programmes and wrote a long-running newspaper column and a monthly column for Good Housekeeping. From the 1970s she accepted numerous acting roles, usually playing herself or characters based on her public persona, in series including Moonlighting (1985), The Nanny (1993) and Frasier (1993), and films such as The King of Comedy (1982) and The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad! (1988).
