Biography
Julio Macat is an Argentine-American cinematographer. Born on 20 June 1957 in Rosario, Argentina, he moved to Los Angeles in 1971. He studied at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television and began his career as a camera technician before working as an operator on films directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, including Runaway Train (1985) and Tango & Cash (1989).
Macat served as director of photography on Home Alone (1990) and its sequels Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992) and Home Alone 3 (1997). His other credits include Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), The Nutty Professor (1996), A Walk to Remember (2002), Wedding Crashers (2005), Pitch Perfect (2012) and Horrible Bosses 2 (2014). He is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers.
He has been married to actress Elizabeth Perkins since 2000; they met while working on Miracle on 34th Street (1994).
