Biography
Kalina Ivanov is a production designer. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, she emigrated to New York in 1979 and graduated with honours from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts Design Department; she also holds an MFA from the university’s graduate film programme.
Ivanov is known for her production design on films including Little Miss Sunshine (2006), Wonder (2017), The Vow (2012), Long Shot (2019) and Poltergeist (2015), and for television work on Grey Gardens (2009), Lovecraft Country (2020) and The Penguin (2024). She began her career as a storyboard artist on The Silence of the Lambs (1991) and has collaborated with directors including Robert Redford and George Clooney. She won a Primetime Emmy Award for Grey Gardens and has received Art Directors Guild awards and nominations.
