Biography
Katherine Heigl is an American actress and former model. Born on 24 November 1978 in Washington, District of Columbia, she began modelling as a child with Wilhelmina Models and made her film debut in That Night (1992).
She appeared in films including My Father the Hero (1994) and Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995), and played Isabel Evans in the series Roswell (1999–2002). Heigl is known for her role as Izzie Stevens in the medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2005–2010), for which she received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
She has starred in romantic comedies such as Knocked Up (2007), 27 Dresses (2008), The Ugly Truth (2009), Killers (2010) and Life As We Know It (2010). Heigl has also acted as executive producer on television series including State of Affairs (2014–2015) and Firefly Lane (2021–).
