Biography

Larry J. Blake was an American actor. Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, on 24 April 1914, he began his career in vaudeville as an impersonator and dialect specialist, becoming a headliner on the Orpheum circuit and appearing at the Roxy Theatre and the Rainbow Room in New York City.

He signed with Universal Pictures in 1936 and made his screen debut in the serial Secret Agent X-9 (1937), followed by roles in The Road Back (1937) and several 1938 features. After serving in the US Navy during the Second World War, he returned to acting in 1946 and appeared in numerous supporting and bit parts. He is noted for his performances in Sunset Boulevard (1950), as the first finance man, and High Noon (1952). Blake continued working in film and television until his final role in Time After Time (1979). He died on 25 May 1982.
