Biography
Laura Hastings-Smith is a British film and television producer. She began her career as a director of documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC before moving into feature film production.
Her credits include the feature films Hunger (2008), Chatroom (2010), X+Y (2014), Macbeth (2015), Mindhorn (2016) and The Little Drummer Girl (2018), as well as television series such as Top Boy (2011), Howards End (2017) and Hanna (2020). She has also served as executive producer on Prime Target (2025). She was nominated for two BAFTA Awards.
Hastings-Smith studied fine art and lived for a time in Sydney, where she taught filmmaking. She later worked with the founders of Dazed & Confused magazine and produced The Lives of the Saints (2006) before establishing herself as a freelance producer.
