Biography
Lawrence Grant (born Percy Reginald Lawrence-Grant) was an English actor. He appeared in supporting roles in numerous Hollywood films from the silent era through the 1940s.
Grant began his career on the stage and first came to America in 1908. He later worked in Hollywood as a character actor and hosted the 4th Academy Awards ceremony in 1931.
His film credits include Shanghai Express (1932) as Reverend Carmichael, The Mask of Fu Manchu (1932) as Sir Lionel Barton, Son of Frankenstein (1939) as the Bürgermeister, Ninotchka (1939) as General Savitsky (uncredited), and Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941) as Dr. Courtland. He died in Santa Barbara, California.
