Biography
Lele Marchitelli (born Daniele Marchitelli) is an Italian composer. Born in Rome in 1955, he studied guitar and bass as an autodidact and played in bands including Gramigna before focusing on composition from 1984. He has written music for films, television series and variety shows.
Marchitelli is known for his long collaboration with director Paolo Sorrentino, scoring The Great Beauty (2013), Loro (2018), The Young Pope (2016), The New Pope (2020), The Hand of God (2021) and Parthenope (2024). He also composed the score for the HBO series Mare of Easttown (2021). He has received two David di Donatello nominations and five Nastro d'Argento nominations for best score.
