Biography
Linwood Boomer is a Canadian-American television writer, producer and former actor. He was born on 9 October 1955 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
He began his career as an actor, playing Adam Kendall in the drama series Little House on the Prairie (1978–1981). He later moved into writing and producing, with credits including Silver Spoons (1982), Night Court (1984) and 3rd Rock from the Sun (1996).
Boomer created the sitcom Malcolm in the Middle (2000–2006), for which he wrote the pilot episode and received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series. He also directed several episodes of the series. In 2026 he created and wrote the four-episode revival miniseries Malcolm in the Middle: Life's Still Unfair.
