Biography
Lisa Gerrard is an Australian composer, singer and instrumentalist. She formed the duo Dead Can Dance with Brendan Perry in the early 1980s; the pair released nine albums between 1984 and 1995.
Gerrard began scoring films in the 1990s. With Pieter Bourke she composed the score for The Insider (1999). She collaborated with Hans Zimmer on Gladiator (2000) and has contributed to scores including Ali (2001), Whale Rider (2003), Man on Fire (2004) and Layer Cake (2004).
Her film work has earned a Golden Globe win for Gladiator and nominations for The Insider and Ali.
