Biography
Louis DiGiaimo (1938–2015) was an American casting director and film producer. Born in Paterson, New Jersey, he graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University and initially worked as an accountant before entering casting after meeting director Martin Ritt in 1968.
DiGiaimo served as a casting director on Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather (1972) and later worked extensively with directors William Friedkin, Barry Levinson and Ridley Scott. His credits include The Exorcist (1973), Rain Man (1988), Thelma & Louise (1991) and Gladiator (2000). He won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1998 for casting the television series Homicide: Life on the Street.
As a producer, DiGiaimo worked on Donnie Brasco (1997) alongside Levinson and Mike Newell, as well as Dinner Rush (2000) and An Everlasting Piece (2000).
