Biography
Louis Cioffi, also credited as Louis F. Cioffi, is a film and television editor. Originally from Queens, New York, he studied at St John’s University, where he developed an interest in editing. After graduating he worked for one of his film professors, then moved into commercial editing in New York before relocating to Los Angeles, where he began as an assistant editor for Roger Corman and was soon promoted to editor.
Cioffi is best known for editing thirty episodes of the Showtime series Dexter (2007–2013). He has also edited episodes of Billions (2016–), See (2019) and Midnight, Texas (2017), and feature films including Blair Witch (2016), Death Note (2017) and Umma (2022). He won an American Cinema Editors Eddie Award and received a Primetime Emmy nomination for his work on Dexter.
