Biography
Marco Perella is an American character actor and author. Born in Houston, Texas, he attended Stanford University before working as a construction worker, firefighter and musician. He began acting in the mid-1980s and has appeared in numerous films and television productions shot in Texas.
Perella has collaborated several times with director Richard Linklater, including as Donald in A Scanner Darkly (2006) and as Professor Bill Welbrock in Boyhood (2014). Other credits include Lone Star (1996), Miss Congeniality (2000), Friday Night Lights (2004) and Sin City (2005). He is the author of the 2001 bestselling memoir Adventures of A No Name Actor.
He lives in Texas with his wife Diane Perella, with whom he also teaches on-camera acting classes and workshops.
