Biography
Martin Pasko (also credited as Marty Pasko) was a Canadian comic book writer and television screenwriter. Born Jean-Claude Rochefort in Montreal, Quebec, he began his career writing comics for Warren Publishing in 1972 and joined DC Comics the following year, contributing to titles including Superman, Doctor Fate and Swamp Thing.
In the 1980s he moved into television, writing for or serving as story editor on live-action series such as Buck Rogers in the 25th Century, The Twilight Zone, Max Headroom and Roseanne. He later specialised in animation, writing for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero and The Tick, among others.
Pasko was a writer and story editor on Batman: The Animated Series and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1993 feature film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. He died in North Hills, California, on 10 May 2020.
