Biography
Mary Ridge was a British television director. Born Eileen Mary Ridge in Preston, Lancashire, she began her career as a production assistant before becoming a director in 1964. Her early credits included episodes of Thursday Theatre and more than three dozen instalments of The Newcomers.
Ridge directed widely across BBC drama, including Z Cars, Dixon of Dock Green, The Brothers and Angels. She served as associate producer on the second series of The Duchess of Duke Street in 1977. In the early 1980s she directed six episodes of Blake's 7 and the four-part Doctor Who serial Terminus (1983). She retired in the mid-1980s and died in 2000.
