Biography
Matthew Negrete is an American television writer and producer. He was born on 15 May 1972 in Los Angeles, California. He holds a B.F.A. in Filmic Writing from the University of Southern California. His early career included writing and producing for Disney animated series such as Timon & Pumbaa (1995), Kim Possible (2002), Brandy & Mr. Whiskers (2004), American Dragon: Jake Long (2005) and The Penguins of Madagascar (2008).
Negrete moved into live-action drama with writing credits on White Collar (2009) and Graceland (2013). He joined AMC's The Walking Dead (2010) as a writer and producer for Season 4 in 2013, contributing episodes through Season 9 and serving in producer roles including supervising producer and co-executive producer. He was showrunner and executive producer on the spin-off The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020).
He has written episodes for later franchise entries including The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (2024) and The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023).
