Biography
Michael E. Satrazemis is an American cinematographer and director. He began his career as a grip on the 1992 feature My Cousin Vinny before moving into the camera department, where he worked for two decades on features and television.
Satrazemis joined The Walking Dead (2010) as an "A" camera operator in its first season. He served as director of photography on 48 episodes from 2013 to 2017 and has directed numerous episodes of the series from season four onwards. He has also directed episodes of Fear the Walking Dead (2015), Tales of the Walking Dead (2022) and spin-offs including The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live (2024) and The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023).
He is of Greek descent and has spoken publicly about his preference for shooting on film.
