Biography
Daisy von Scherler Mayer (born 14 September 1966) is an American film and television director and screenwriter. She is the daughter of actress Sasha Von Scherler and writer Paul Avila Mayer.
Her feature films include Party Girl (1995), which she co-wrote and which starred Parker Posey; Madeline (1998); The Guru (2002); and Some Girl(s) (2013). Television directing credits include episodes of Mad Men (2009), The Walking Dead, Yellowjackets, Orange Is the New Black, Shameless, Chuck and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. She received a Gracie Award in 2019 for her work on The Walking Dead.
A graduate of Wesleyan University, von Scherler Mayer trained in theatre and began her career with production work for directors including Sidney Lumet and Mira Nair. She is married to composer David Carbonara.
