Biography
Matyelok Gibbs was a British actress. Born Ann Matyelok Gibbs on 1 August 1932 in Leatherhead, Surrey, she died on 14 August 2023. She trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art and began her career in children's theatre.
Gibbs served as artistic director of London's Unicorn Theatre from 1973 to 1977. Her film roles included the Concierge in Kafka (1991), Louise in EverAfter (1998), Elyse in Babel (2006), Auntie Muriel Weasley in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 (2010), Mrs Pope-Graham in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011) and Lady Shepherd in The Hundred-Foot Journey (2014).
She was in a civil partnership with former actor and children's author Ursula Jones from 1961 until her death.
