Biography
Max Casella is an American actor. Born Maximilian Deitch on 6 June 1967 in Washington, D.C., he grew up in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York.
Casella is known for his role as Vinnie Delpino in the television series Doogie Howser, M.D. (1989–1993) and as Benny Fazio in The Sopranos (1999–2007). Film credits include Paul Marco in Ed Wood (1994), Racetrack Higgins in Newsies (1992), Zini in Dinosaur (2000), Ed Small in Revolutionary Road (2008), and roles in Blue Jasmine (2013) and Inside Llewyn Davis (2013). He has also appeared in Boardwalk Empire, Vinyl and Tulsa King.
On stage, Casella originated the role of Timon in the Broadway production of The Lion King (1997) and appeared in revivals of The Music Man. He received a Theatre World Award for his Broadway debut.
