Biography
Michael Chabon is an American novelist and screenwriter. Born in Washington, D.C. in 1963, he studied at Carnegie Mellon University before transferring to the University of Pittsburgh, from which he graduated in 1984. He later received an MFA in creative writing from the University of California, Irvine.
Chabon's first novel, The Mysteries of Pittsburgh (1988), was published when he was 24. It was followed by Wonder Boys (1995), adapted into a film in 2000 for which he received a novel credit. His novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay (2000) won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2001. He has also written screenplays and teleplays, including for Spider-Man 2 (2004), John Carter (2012) and the Netflix series Unbelievable (2019), which he co-created.
Chabon is married to writer Ayelet Waldman, with whom he has collaborated on television projects.
