Biography
Michael M. Robin is an American television producer and director. He began his career as a production assistant on the series L.A. Law (1986), advancing to producer and receiving a Primetime Emmy Award for outstanding drama series. He later worked as a producer on Cop Rock, where he made his directorial debut, and contributed to NYPD Blue (1993) as supervising producer, co-executive producer and director, earning a second Primetime Emmy for the series along with a directing nomination.
Robin spent eleven years with producer Steven Bochco before forming The Shephard/Robin Company with Greer Shephard in 1998. The partnership produced series including Nip/Tuck (2003), The Closer (2005), Rizzoli & Isles (2010), Major Crimes (2012) and Longmire (2012). He has directed numerous drama pilots for these and other programmes such as Dallas (2012), All Rise (2019) and Valor (2017). Robin has received Primetime Emmy Awards for L.A. Law and NYPD Blue, and Golden Globe Awards for Nip/Tuck, NYPD Blue and L.A. Law.
