Biography
Michael Sugar is an American film and television producer and talent manager. He worked for many years as a manager and producer at Anonymous Content before founding the management and production company Sugar23 in 2017.
Sugar produced the 2015 film Spotlight, for which he shared the Academy Award for Best Picture. His other film credits include Rendition (2007), Collateral Beauty (2016), The Report (2019), The Laundromat (2019) and Worth (2020). Television credits as executive producer include The OA (2016), 13 Reasons Why (2017–2020), Maniac (2018) and Dickinson (2019–2021).
A Brandeis University alumnus (class of 1995), Sugar studied American Studies and Film Studies and later attended Georgetown University Law Center. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and has lectured at USC, NYU, Columbia and the American Film Institute.
