Biography
Michiko Ikeda is a Japanese film editor born on 20 February 1936 in Tochigi Prefecture. She initially sought work as a scripter at Toho but failed the entrance exam. While assisting at her sister's restaurant near the studio, she met Iwashita Hirokazu, who encouraged her to pursue a career in film editing.
Her credits include numerous Toho productions. She edited the kaiju films Godzilla vs. Megalon (1973), Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla (1974), Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) and Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah (1991), as well as Submersion of Japan (1973) and Evil of Dracula (1974). In 1974 she received the editing award at the Asia-Pacific Film Festival.
