Biography
Mike O'Malley is an American actor, writer and producer. Born on 31 October 1966 in Boston, Massachusetts, he was raised in New Hampshire and graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
He began his career hosting the children's game shows Get the Picture and Nickelodeon Guts in the early 1990s. He is best known for playing Jimmy Hughes in the CBS sitcom Yes, Dear (2000–2006) and Burt Hummel in the Fox series Glee (2009–2015), for which he received an Emmy nomination. His film roles include Deep Impact (1998), Eat Pray Love (2010), R.I.P.D. (2013), Concussion (2015) and Sully (2016).
O'Malley has also written for Shameless and created the Starz series Survivor's Remorse (2014–2017). He is a published playwright whose works include Three Years from Thirty and Diverting Devotion.
