Biography
Monika Willi, also credited as Mona Willi, is an Austrian film editor. She was born on 29 May 1968 in Innsbruck. She has worked as an editor since the 1990s and is known for her collaborations with directors Michael Haneke, Michael Glawogger and Barbara Albert.
Willi edited Haneke’s The Piano Teacher (2001), Time of the Wolf (2003), Funny Games (2007), The White Ribbon (2009), Amour (2012) and Happy End (2017). She completed and co-directed Glawogger’s Untitled (2017) after his death during filming, winning Austrian Film Awards for best documentary and best editing. Her other credits include Styx (2018) and TÁR (2022). She received an Academy Award nomination for best film editing for TÁR and multiple Austrian Film Awards for editing.
