Biography

Morton Haack (26 June 1924 – 22 March 1987) was an American costume designer. He began working in film in the late 1950s and received three Academy Award nominations for Best Costume Design: for The Unsinkable Molly Brown (1964), Planet of the Apes (1968) and What's the Matter with Helen? (1971).

Haack is best known for his work on the Planet of the Apes series, designing costumes for Planet of the Apes (1968), Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972) and Battle for the Planet of the Apes (1973). His other film credits include Please Don't Eat the Daisies (1960), Come September (1961), Walk Don't Run (1966) and Buona Sera, Mrs. Campbell (1968). He also worked as a production designer on Massacre in Rome (1973).
