Biography
Nadim Sawalha is a Jordanian-British actor. Born in Madaba, Jordan, he moved to the United Kingdom in the early 1950s to study drama. He became one of the first actors of Arabic background to work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court Theatre and the National Theatre.
Sawalha has appeared in over 100 film and television roles since the 1960s. His credits include A Touch of Class (1973), The Return of the Pink Panther (1975), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), The Living Daylights (1987), Syriana (2005) and The Nativity Story (2006). He played the lead in the Jordanian film Captain Abu Raed (2007). He is the father of actresses Nadia Sawalha and Julia Sawalha, and brother of comedian Nabil Sawalha.
