Biography
Nino Baragli (1 October 1925 – 29 May 2013) was an Italian film editor. Born Giovanni Baragli in Rome, he edited more than 200 films between 1944 and 1996.
Introduced to the industry by his uncle, the editor Eraldo Da Roma, Baragli began as a film operator and assistant editor. He collaborated extensively with Sergio Leone on The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), Once Upon a Time in the West (1968), Duck, You Sucker (1971) and Once Upon a Time in America (1984), as well as with Pier Paolo Pasolini on films including Accattone (1961) and Salò, or the 120 Days of Sodom (1975).
He also worked with Federico Fellini, Roberto Benigni and others. Baragli won David di Donatello awards for best editing for The Voice of the Moon (1990) and Mediterraneo (1991), and received a special Silver Ribbon for his career in 1998.
